We know how important a first impression can be and while a CV is a great way to show your work history, a showreel is the perfect way to show your real talents. As an actor, singer, model, presenter, public speaker or even an extra, you probably have vision of previous work you have “starred” in….. why not use this, along with photos and other media to create a showreel so prospective employers can see how talented you really are.
Showreels aren’t restricted to individuals!
Companies and products are perfect for showreels too. If you are pitching for new business and want a dynamic way to showcase your company or its product line then creating a full motion, vision and audio showreel can really make you stand out! These can be delivered via DVD or encoded for web delivery. Place your showreel on your website or include it in a marketing email.
What should I include?
Almost anything! You can use video, photographs, animations, testimonials, product shots, existing footage from suppliers, TV commercials you have been in, films you have starred in (or even been an extra in!), events you have MC’d, magazine ads you have appeared in, just about anything that portrays you in a positive way and can lead to you getting more work of the type you are interested in.
How Much?
It will depend on the amount of material you have and how long you want the reel to go for (ideally it will be 2 mins or less!)
